For me personally the best Italian place in London.

The décor is simple, so is the food, but probably that's the secret of its divine taste.

Their pasta with pesto is fabulous, nowhere else do they make is so well, and portions are generous, too. Pricewise, it's comparable to popular Italian chains, with the difference their food really rocks!

But it's not only pesto. Their mushroom risotto, hand-made cannelloni with spinach and ricotta and black seafood spaghetti prove their dishes are as good as only Italian food can be.

Falling in love with their vegetarian panini I was always trying to find something nearly as good during my trips to Italy, however, without success.

And if you don't have enough, the place has also a small selection of Italian products, anything from panettone to mozarella.

Nice enough food  -  but reheated pasta weighs in at about £8 and is too much. Minus a star for that, half a star for undercooked risotto (come on guys), and another half for the grotty (tinned surely?why?) button mushrooms that detract from the lovely olives.

3 stars seems harsh - but their output doesn't justify the top-end deli prices they charge.

I really want to give Giuliano's four-stars, but I am struggling to justify the rating.

I first stopped by Giuliano's when out for a stroll in Richmond. The store front was intriguing, and I have been long in search of a grocery store or deli that sells Italian-style sausages. After a quick look round, I discovered they sold exactly what I was looking for, but as I was just browsing that day, I did not actually purchase anything.

A few months passed, and I had a hankering for a dish I like to make using Italian sausages. I had almost all the ingredients required by the recipe except for the sausages, and I was planning on stopping an Giuliano's for the final ingredient. Problem is that Giuliano's has some random hours. It was Sunday around noon, and the place was not open. The previous time I stopped in was a Sunday, so it seemed logical that they would be open that Sunday as well. Turns out they are open on Sunday, but their hours seem to vary; I was walking past today and noticed that they were open before 11:00.

But despite the random opening times, there is some quality food on offer at Giulano's. I stopped in earlier in the week for lunch. There is a small seating area above the shop where there are a range of panini-style ciabatta sandwiches and a variety of their pastas of the day on offer. I decided on the salame ciabatta which comes with salame, cheese, tomato and red pesto. It is probably one of the tastiest sandwiches I have had in Richmond, perhaps even in London. The only downside was that it was quite expensive at £5.90. The pastas on offer also looked delicious, but again, were a bit on the pricey side (£8 - 10) considering they are pre-made and heated to-order.

In summary, Giulano's has some great food. Yes, you will pay a bit more for it, and they may not be open when you expect them to be, but if you do manage to get something, I am certain you will be satisfied.

Great place to get takeaway for lunch. They have a good variety of pasta and risotto specials every day and they're usually around £5. Also a good place to stop by to pick up ingredients for cooking Italian food for dinner.

I had the seafood pasta and it was delicious. They pre-make pans of pasta and heat it up for you when you order, so it's not exactly made-to-order but that would take forever. This is a good compromise of high quality and speed.

    Very authentic Italian.

Been a customer here for many years. The Mediterranean cuisine is all homemade and very authentic. It's just had a refurbishment and looks fresh and new.
